Electronic equipment often has a special kind of connector; a BNC connector. A BNC connector is named after the inventors. And has two so called bayonet lugs. For mating these connectors you need to align the lugs and quarter turn the coupling nut clockwise.

Cables are available with BNC connectors on both ends. To interconnect different pieces of equipment. But also with crocodile clips, or so called banana plugs on other end of the BNC cable. This end is meant to connect to your circuit.

For Oscilloscopes also designated probes are available. BNC on one end, and a special hook on the other end. These probes mostly have an attenuation by a factor 10.
